On Thursday, May 19, at approximately 6:30 a.m., PSPD dispatch received the report of a disturbance between neighbors in the 700 block of San Lorenzo Road. PSPD officers responded to the scene and met with a victim who had sustained facial injuries during the incident.

PSPD Officers learned the victim was in his residence asleep when a subject forced entry into the residence by breaking a sliding glass door. The suspect physically attacked the victim before grabbing an iron and using it to strike the victim in the face. The suspect grabbed some property from the residence and left the location.

The suspect was ultimately located by PSPD Officers and identified as Taylor Hurst (36, of Palm Springs).

Hurst was taken into custody without incident. Hurst was transported to John Benoit Detention Center in Indio CA, where he was booked for PC 212.5 – Robbery and PC 245 – Assault with a deadly weapon.

The Palm Springs Police department reminds the public that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
