Palm Springs, CA

For those in the LGBTQ community who own businesses, the Desert Business Association (DBA), an LGBTQ Chamber for the Coachella Valley, is putting on an event to encouraging LGBTQ business owners to develop or enhance a business succession plan.

A business succession plan according to Fit Small Business is a “series of logistical and financial decisions about who will take over your business upon retirement, death, or disability.” “Succession plans are commonly associated with retirement; however, they serve an important function earlier in the business lifespan.”

The LGBTQ Business Succession Planning Workshop is a joint effort between the Desert Business Association in partnership with Absolut and the National LGBT Chamber (NGLCC). The event will be held on July 11th from 3:30pm to 5pm at the Renaissance Hotel in Palm Springs.

The workshop is 90 minutes long and designed to help business owners get ready for when they decide to exit their business. Interested parties can register here.

Afterwards there will be a networking event from 5:15pm to 7pm at the Renaissance hotel located at 888 Tahquitz Canyon Way in Palm Springs.

The mission of the Desert Business Association is to promote and support LGBTQ and allied businesses and professionals for business promotion, economic development, educational and humanitarian purposes. For more information on the Desert Business Assocation, click here.
