Palm Springs, CA
Coming on the heels of a 9-performance run in December, Dan Gore, owner of Oscar’s Palm Springs, and Dan Gelfand, co-producer of “Mid-Century Moderns,” announced today 11 additional dates for the hit musical over the next few months, including next Thursday and Friday, January 26 and 27.
Additional dates are February 21 and 22 (during Modernism Week) and April 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28. Recently nominated for 11 Broadway World Palm Springs Theatre Awards, including Best Musical, Best Performer in a Musical and Best Direction of a Musical, “Mid-Century Moderns” tells the tale of a plucky Wisconsin widow who transforms from frump to fabulous when she finds herself at the center of modernity in Palm Springs!
Pop hits of ‘66 come to life as audiences journey back to 1966 Palm Springs, along with the music of Tom Jones, Petula Clark, Lesley Gore, Frank and Nancy Sinatra, The Association, The Monkees and many more.
With an original story and direction by Mark Christopher, best known for the hit movie “54” starring Salma Hayek, Ryan Phillippe and Mike Myers, “Mid-Century Moderns” is the entertaining and comedic musical adventure of Maryann Popecky, who dreams of
moving West…to become a secretary! But when her car breaks down in the shadow of Mt. San Jacinto, it seems that the fates have something else in store. She finds freedom from the ghost of her late husband, Ernie, and from all the old ways that have been holding her down…and she just might find love, but on her own mid-century terms.
“Mid-Century Moderns” features Christine Tringali Nunes, James Owens, Gary Powers, Carlos Garcia, Joseph Portoles and Heather Joy. Tringali Nunes, Owens, Powers and Garcia have all received local theatre award nominations for their performances in the show.

“Mid-Century Moderns” originally debuted April 2022 at the Desert Rose Playhouse, and was immediately embraced by critics and audiences.
Broadway World raved, “Great writing, incredible voices, terrific acting and beloved songs combine to make ‘Mid-Century Moderns’ one of the most enjoyable visits to the theatre in a very long time!”
“We are extremely happy to continue our partnership with Oscar’s Palm Springs. Working with Oscar’s management and staff has been a pleasure, and we’re grateful to have a home here in the center of town. Audiences have really embraced our show at
Oscar’s,” said Dan Gelfand, co-producer of “Mid-Century Moderns.”
