Palm Springs, CA
Now in its fourth year, the Gayming Awards, the world’s only LGBTQ video game award show,
returns in April 2024 where it’s making the jump across the US from New York City to its new
home in Palm Springs.
The celebration of queer geek culture is continuing its journey to become a key player on the
global video game stage by heading over to California, the home of the video game industry,
and taking over the Margaritaville Resort in Palm Springs, one of the most popular and
wellknown LGBTQ destinations.
Building on the huge success of the 2023 Awards which were hosted in New York City and saw
the honors of the night being shared amongst an incredibly diverse lineup of games, content
creators and companies, the Gayming Awards are set to grow even more as it adds more to the
line up including a networking brunch for nominees, industry folks and press ahead of the main
Award show later that day.
In a drive to further increase the celebration of diversity and inclusion of nominees, the Gayming
Awards are also proud to reveal the launch of a Community Diversity Council headed up by
Raffy Regulus from NYC Gaymers. This council will sit alongside the production team of the
2024 Awards with a mission to focus on inclusion and equity for nominees and attendees.
Robin Gray, the creator of the Gayming Awards, said: “I’m so thrilled that the impact and reach
of the Gayming Awards continue to grow, and this move to Palm Springs shows that we want to
keep carving out our space in the global games industry as we come to its spiritual home in
California. I’m also delighted we’ve appointed Raffy to head up the Community Diversity Council. Celebrating LGBTQ+ representation in its fullest form is important to us, and it’s crucial
to have this Council reviewing some of our decisions and ways of working to ensure our event is
diverse, equitable and inclusive as possible.”
The 2024 Awards will be hosted at the stunning Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs. A sprawling
oasis of beauty where attendees can book in for the weekend and enjoy those desert vibes
before enjoying various networking and party opportunities throughout the Sunday show day.
Kate Brown, Director of Sales & Marketing, at Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs said: “We are
thrilled to have the opportunity to host the Gayming Awards at Margaritaville Resort Palm
Springs. It aligns perfectly with our brand pillars of fun, escapism and inclusivity, and reflects our
continued support of the LGBTQ community and the wonderful contribution it makes to the
destination as an essential part of the Palm Springs DNA.”
“We’re excited to welcome the 2024 Gayming Awards to Palm Springs, and the beautiful
Margaritaville Resort,” said Scott White, President & CEO of Visit Greater Palm Springs. “We
share your vision of inclusion and are excited to celebrate LGBTQ+ representation in the global
games industry.”
Alongside the physical location of the event, the Gayming Awards is once again being made
available to stream live for a global audience. The 2023 Awards were watched by over half a
million people around the world and through larger media partnerships, the target for 2024 is to
make it even more accessible on more platforms and devices!
