Palm Springs, CA

The Gateway neighborhood, one of the newest designated areas in Palm Springs, and part of One-PS, just got a business boost to the area for those who have a sweet tooth with the expansion of Carousel Bakery & Cafe. This development adds to another exciting business opening in the neighborhood, Play Lounge & Cafe, set to open this week.

Carousel Bakery & Cafe has expanded their footprint from a 928 square foot location at 440 El Cielo Rd into a significantly larger location at the same shopping center steps away from the main entrance of the Palm Springs International Airport. The Bakery and Cafe has moved into the former space of Nicolino’s Italian restaurant, who still have their original location in Cathedral City. The same shopping center also houses three more eateries, Felipe’s Palm Springs, Palermo’s New York Pizza, and El Taco Asado.

Owners Elizabeth and Alberto Cervantes are excited about the expansion of their bakery and cafe. Offering up a variety of items from baked goods, a full coffee menu, plus an expanded dining room serving croissants, sandwiches, and burgers, Carousel Bakery & Cafe has a lot to offer.

It may be their bakery and dessert items though that are the most impressive. Carousel Bakery & Cafe’s offerings include a large selection of cakes (German, Strawberry Shortcake, Tres Leches and more), pies (Apple, Pumpkin, Blueberry and more), cookies, cupcakes, macaroons, and additional ready made scrumptious items to go.

For now Carousel Bakery & Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch only but Elizabeth Cervantes hopes to open for later hours as well after her team is built so customers can sip espressos while eating pastries during Palm Springs’ cooler twilight hours.
