For those who love spice in their life and are looking for more food variety in the Coachella Valley, I have good news for you. Spice Rack has recently opened up in Cathedral City and is a one stop shop for Indian and Mediterranean foods and spices.
I happily stumbled upon it when picking up my newly tailored pants at Lani Alteration in the shopping center that also hosts other vibrant Cathedral City businesses such as Oceans and One Eleven Bar. Spice Rack is specifically located at 67555 E Palm Canyon Dr Suite E101-102 and is a welcome addition to those like me who love Indian and Mediterranean foods living in or visiting the Coachella Valley.
The owners Suki Singh and Jyoti Kaur clearly have an experienced eye for running a food business focused on tasty delights. I got to talk with Jyoti Kaur about their journey in opening Spice Rack.

What inspired you both to open Spice Rack Inc, specifically focusing on Indian cuisine and spices in Cathedral City, CA?
The absence of Indian or Middle Eastern grocery stores in the Coachella Valley exposed a gap in the local market, leaving residents and visitors alike without convenient access to essential ingredients and spices central to their culinary traditions. This dearth compelled us to take action, recognizing the need to bridge cultural divides and provide a space where diverse communities could gather and explore a rich tapestry of flavors. Inspired by necessity and driven by a passion for fostering inclusivity, we established our new grocery store in Cathedral City, aiming to offer a vibrant array of Indian spices and other ethnic goods, thus enriching the local culinary landscape and fostering a sense of community among both local and foreign patrons.

How do your backgrounds or personal experiences influence the offerings and atmosphere at Spice Rack Inc?
Five years ago, my family relocated from India to Indio. The owners Suki Singh and his wife Jyoti Kaur had a concrete experience of running 2 successful restaurants in India which led us to Settling into the new neighborhood, we embraced the vibrant grocery culture. The journey unfolds as we navigate the unique spices, flavors, and traditions, creating a fusion of memories and tastes that blend both worlds. From masala mornings to vindaloo evenings, Spice Rack becomes a haven, connecting my family to home through the aisles of spices and the warmth of shared meals.
What sets Spice Rack Inc apart from other spice shops in the area, and what do you hope customers will experience when they visit your establishment?
