Entrepreneurs and small business owners in Coachella now have an exciting opportunity to gain free, high-quality business management training through a partnership between UCR University Extension, the City of Coachella, and Caravanserai. Caravanserai’s experienced staff will serve as instructors for the program, equipping participants with essential business skills to support career growth and strengthen the region’s economy.
To help interested participants learn more, free information sessions will be held on Wednesday, February 19 from 4 PM to 5 PM via Zoom and Tuesday, February 27, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Coachella Branch Library. Attendees will gain insight into course offerings, eligibility, and enrollment details.
“UCR University Extension is very excited to expand our existing partnership with Caravanserai to include this amazing Business Readiness Course. We’ve had a great and collaborative relationship with Caravanserai over the past few years. Partnering with them to deliver the Business Readiness program to City of Coachella Residents at no charge (to residents) will hopefully inspire future entrepreneurs to take their first steps toward starting their business,” said Ivan Melchor, Director of Corporate Education and Custom Programs, UCR University Extension.
The partnership is designed not only to educate but to empower Coachella-based entrepreneurs with hands-on instruction from experienced professionals.

The program includes courses in:
- Business Readiness – Foundational skills for launching and managing a business.
- Business English – Language skills tailored for entrepreneurs and professionals.
- Micro MBA – A condensed MBA-style program for career and business growth.
Participants must live, work, or own a business in the City of Coachella to enroll in the program.
