Betty White to Smile on New Stamp

Los Angeles, CA

The U.S. Postal Service is set to celebrate the life and legacy of the beloved actress and comedienne Betty White with a new Forever stamp bearing her likeness. Known for her warmth, wit, and enduring charisma, Betty White’s stamp will honor her impact on both television and animal welfare, as well as her long-lasting influence on American culture.

The first-day-of-issue event for the Betty White stamp will be held at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens, where the public is invited to attend the celebration. The event will take place at Allen Ludden Plaza, located at 5333 Zoo Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90027. In a special gesture, free day-of-event admission will be available to attendees.

The stamp features a digitally created portrait of Betty White, capturing her iconic impish smile, which illuminated her six-decade career in entertainment. The image showcases White in a blue, polka-dotted top against a violet background adorned with bubbly spots, representing her sparkling personality. The stamp’s design includes her name, “Betty White,” in white lettering near the bottom, while “FOREVER USA” is printed below in violet. The stamp will be available in panes of 20.

White, who passed away in 2021, earned the title of “First Lady of Television” for her contributions to the medium. Throughout her remarkable career, she was honored with five Primetime Emmy Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Grammy Award, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Beyond her acting career, White was also renowned for her tireless animal welfare work, which further endeared her to fans across the globe.

As a Forever stamp, the Betty White stamp will always be valid for the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price, making it both a collectible item and a practical tool for mailing.
