Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, a popular national franchise known for its signature slow-roasted turkey subs, is expanding its footprint in California with a new location in Rancho Mirage. The new shop, which opened its doors this month, brings the restaurant’s 40-year tradition of in-house slow-roasting all-natural turkeys and crafting unique sandwiches to the local community.
Located at 36101 Bob Hope Dr. G-2, the new Rancho Mirage store is owned and operated by local entrepreneurs Kevin Steele and Ryan Truesdall. Steele, a longtime resident of the area with deep connections to the local hospitality industry, brings a wealth of experience in restaurant management. He has held various roles as executive chef, general manager, and food and beverage director at prestigious resorts and country clubs. Steele is also the owner of the popular Slice Italia, which helped inspire his decision to invest in a Capriotti’s franchise.
“After years in the restaurant industry, I craved a business model that was efficient and rewarding,” said Steele. “Capriotti’s delivers on both fronts, offering a diverse menu with something for everyone. We’re excited to introduce this culinary gem to our community!”
Capriotti’s, which was founded in 1976 and has grown to more than 175 locations nationwide, is famous for its variety of cold, grilled, and vegetarian subs, cheesesteaks, and salads. The chain’s signature sub, The Bobbie®, has earned the title of “The Greatest Sandwich in America” by AOL.com readers. This iconic sandwich features oven-roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo, a comforting combination that has become a fan favorite.
The new Rancho Mirage location offers a full range of Capriotti’s famous sandwiches, including the Capastrami, made with hot pastrami, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and homemade coleslaw, as well as cheesesteaks made with premium steak, chicken, or Impossible plant-based meat. Customers can enjoy these offerings alongside various services such as order-ahead options, online ordering, third-party delivery, and catering for events like corporate functions and birthday parties. Catering options include cold sub party trays, box lunches, and a hot homemade meatball bar.
With its expansion, Capriotti’s has created new job opportunities for the local community, contributing positively to the local economy. The brand has ambitious goals for future growth, aiming to reach over 750 locations nationwide by 2032.
