Palm Springs Voters Urged to Prepare for November 4 Special Statewide Election

Palm Springs, CA

The City of Palm Springs is reminding residents of important dates, locations, and procedures ahead of the upcoming Special Statewide Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

On the ballot is Proposition 50, a measure that would temporarily suspend California’s current congressional district boundaries and authorize the creation of a new map to be used during the 2026 through 2030 elections.

Vote-by-Mail Ballots and Registration Deadlines

All active registered California voters will be mailed a Vote by Mail ballot beginning October 6, 2025. The last day to register to vote in the election is October 20, 2025. Ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by November 11, 2025.

State officials are strongly encouraging voters to return ballots early to avoid potential delays with U.S. Postal Service processing in the Palm Springs area. Attorney General Rob Bonta and Secretary of State Shirley Weber cautioned that ballots mailed on Election Day may not be postmarked in time to be counted.
