Desert Rodeo To Return to Coachella Valley in April 2026

Thermal, CA

After a sold-out debut that drew national acclaim and thousands of fans, Desert Rodeo is set to return to the Coachella Valley from April 24–26, 2026, bringing back its signature mix of world-class ProRodeo action and festival-style flair. Passes go on sale Friday, October 17 at 10 a.m. PT via desertrodeo.com.

Launched in 2025, Desert Rodeo redefined the modern rodeo experience by merging Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) competition with the immersive energy of a desert festival. The three-day, daytime event—held at Desert International Horse Park in Thermal—earned rave reviews from The New York Times, which praised it for “bringing a new vibe to the world of rodeo.”

The debut year featured top athletes like Stetson Wright, Tucker Allen, and Dakota Eldridge, drawing crowds of both traditional rodeo fans and first-time festivalgoers. Coverage from outlets like Rolling Stone and NBC Palm Springs highlighted its unique appeal: “a weekend full of cowboy charm, high-stakes rodeo action, and family-friendly fun.”

Expanding the Experience in 2026

Building on its momentum, the 2026 Desert Rodeo promises bigger thrills, new attractions, and expanded experiences:

Each performance will open with a skydiving flag descent, the Cowboy’s Prayer, and a live national anthem, setting the stage for premier PRCA events from bull riding to barrel racing. Beyond the arena, the Outlaw Oasis and Retail Ranch will return, offering a lively mix of Western shopping, food, and entertainment.

Tradition, Community, and Impact

Desert Rodeo’s founders—Brett Lazar, Cassie DiLaura, Traci and Carleton Brooks, and Carrie and David Isen—say the event’s success speaks to a growing desire for authentic yet modern Western experiences.

“Year one proved there’s a real appetite for a Western experience that’s both authentic and fresh,” they said in a joint statement. “We can’t wait to welcome new and returning cowboys, cowgirls, families, and fans in 2026.”

The event will also continue its philanthropic tradition, supporting causes like the Golden Circle of Champions and other local charities, building on its inaugural year’s donations to the California Fire Foundation and County of Los Angeles Fire Department.

The Spirit of the West Lives On

With national partners including Wrangler, Boot Barn, YETI, Stetson, Resistol, Charlie 1 Horse, Montana Silversmiths, and NBC Palm Springs, Desert Rodeo is cementing its place as a must-attend spring tradition in the Coachella Valley.

Produced by Zenda Productions, Flying U Rodeo, and Best Events, Desert Rodeo 2026 promises to once again honor the legacy of the West while reinventing it for a new generation.
