The Palm Springs City Council is set to review and consider several major items impacting public safety, transportation, economic development, and tourism during its regular meeting on Wednesday evening.
Among the agenda highlights is an After-Action Report presentation on the Prescott Preserve Fire, to be delivered by Palm Springs Fire Department Chief Paul Alvarado. The report is expected to outline the department’s response, coordination efforts, and lessons learned from the recent vegetation fire near Prescott Preserve.
Council members will also hear a presentation from the SunLine Transit Agency, which will provide a comprehensive analysis of current transit operations and services throughout the region. The briefing is intended to inform future planning and potential service adjustments.
Another item on the agenda is consideration of a resolution with the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development related to Cannabis Equity Grant funding. The funding program is designed to support equitable participation in the cannabis industry through local assistance and economic development initiatives.
The Council will also revisit an ordinance to restructure the City’s Hotel Incentive Program, a policy tool aimed at encouraging hotel development and reinvestment within Palm Springs. The reintroduction of the ordinance allows the Council to further evaluate proposed changes and their potential impact on the city’s hospitality sector.
