Two residents transported for medical evaluation following early morning blaze
PALM SPRINGS — Palm Springs Fire Department crews responded to a structure fire early Wednesday morning at a residence in the Palm Canyon Mobile Home Club on Pali Drive, extinguishing a kitchen blaze and evacuating two occupants before the fire could spread.
The incident was reported at approximately 12:45 a.m. on June 25, 2026. Dispatchers received calls describing a kitchen fire with smoke alarms audible in the background and immediately instructed occupants to evacuate the premises.
The first engine company on scene reported light smoke coming from a double-wide mobile home upon arrival. While investigating, firefighters learned that an occupant had remained inside the structure and initiated rescue operations. Crews successfully removed two residents from the home before extinguishing the fire, which was contained to the kitchen area.
Following the fire suppression, crews conducted both primary and secondary searches of the residence to confirm no additional occupants remained inside. Both residents were evaluated by emergency medical personnel at the scene and subsequently transported for further medical assessment. The nature of their conditions was not disclosed.
The fire was prevented from extending beyond the kitchen, limiting structural damage to that area. Firefighters remained on scene to ventilate the home and ensure all hazards were mitigated before clearing the incident.
No firefighter injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
