The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will operate extended hours from Sept. 5-7 in observance of the Labor Day holiday, giving visitors more time to take in mountain views and cooler temperatures above the desert floor.
On Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6, the first tram will depart at 8 a.m., with the last tram up at 9 p.m. and the last tram down at 10:30 p.m. On Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, the first tram up will also be at 8 a.m., but the last tram up will be at 8 p.m., with the final tram down at 9:30 p.m.
The extended schedule offers holiday weekend visitors additional time to explore Mt. San Jacinto State Park, where trails range from easy walks to more demanding routes. Those looking for a bigger challenge can join the Mt. San Jacinto Natural History Association on Sunday, Sept. 6, for an all-day guided hike to the Mt. San Jacinto summit. Dining options at the mountain station include Pines Café, a cafeteria-style restaurant with family-friendly options, and Peaks Restaurant, which offers chef-curated dining by reservation. Visitors can also stop by the Lookout Lounge for specialty cocktails with valley views from an elevation of 8,516 feet.
