Palm Springs, CA

Just before midnight, on Monday June 26th, a PSPD K9 officer was patrolling the 6500 block of Dinah Shore Drive, when they conducted a traffic stop, leading to the arrest of 27-year-old Jose Angel Romero Perez.

The suspect had been identified as a person of interest in a series of burglaries and grand theft cases impacting the south end of the city, over the past few months. Affected streets include Pebble Beach Drive, Paseo De La Palma, Cherry Hills Drive, Calle Loreto, and Calle Palo Fiero.

During a thorough search of the vehicle, the officer uncovered a semi-automatic handgun, ammunition, and tools. Romero Perez was taken into custody for his outstanding warrants, including four felonies and one misdemeanor. Additionally, he faces multiple firearm charges. He was taken to the Riverside County Jail, in Indio, without incident.
