(Annenberg Theatre at the Palm Springs Art Museum)

Mayor Grace Garner will deliver the annual State of the City address on Tuesday Oct. 17 at the Palm Springs Art Museum’s Annenberg Theatre focusing on a thriving business, tourism, and hospitality community, along with world-class city services and quality of life continue to make Palm Springs like no place else.

The event, which also includes community awards, is hosted by the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce — and kicks off at 6 p.m. with a video and update from Mayor Garner and the City Council highlighting accomplishments and milestones in their districts over the past year.

Tickets are $80, which includes a reception at 5 p.m. at the Annenberg Theatre, 101 Museum Way. FREE seats for the presentation will be available for residents wishing to forego the reception. For tickets, visit pschamber.org.

Prior to the Mayor’s presentation in the theatre, the Chamber of Commerce will present awards to four community leaders working to make a difference in the Palm Springs community. This year’s honorees are:

  •  Former Councilmember J.R. Roberts, President of the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre Foundation — and the members of the Plaza Theatre Foundation Board – Community Leadership Award
  •  Andy Mills, Palm Springs Chief of Police – Community Appreciation Award.
  •  Oak View Group – Community Development Award.
  •  Lili Rodriguez, Artistic Director, Palm Springs International Film Festival – Emerging Leader Award.

In addition, residents unable to attend this year’s State of the City will be able to watch the broadcast on the City’s YouTube channel and throughout the month of October on Palm Springs Community Television.
