Palm Springs Gallerist and Curator, James Bacchi once again delivers. On the heels of NEO-MODERNISM and MCM MONSTERS, a sold out show of works by master printmaker Eric Rewitzer, Bacchi will preview The Spring Collection, his latest Rotating Group Exhibition, at an Opening Reception on Saturday, April 13, 11-5pm, at JAMES BACCHI CONTEMPORARY at The Shops at 1345 Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs, CA.

The Spring Collection features contemporary works in various media by Gallery Artists.  His preview of this collection spotlights inspired works by John Wood, Mark Tennant, Carolyn Meyer, Mark D. Powers, Bill Bloomfield, Joanne Landis, Will Valle, Gioi Tran, Rebecca Katz, Fernando Reyes, LOLA and Lucky Rapp.  Here is a sneak peek…

John Wood, Wishing For Spring, 23.5”x23.5”, mixed media on paper/mounted on panel

Mark Tennant, Lawn, 24”x20, oil on canvas

Once again, Bacchi offers an impressive, cohesive array of contemporary figurative works, abstraction, color field,  color block and text-based works that portray resurgence and cause for celebration.

Mark D. Powers, Deepwell, 12”x9”, acrylic on panel

“The collection is an inspired  blend of color, texture, and style”, says Bacchi.  “My premise was to assemble works by this group of noteworthy artists that play so well together that the viewer could easily imagine each work being part of a beginning collection.”

Fernando Reyes, Seasons, 16”x16”, cut out prints and collage

LOLA, Honeymoon, 40”x40”, tinted resin on panel

Additional works from the collection by artists Jhina Alvarado, Jay Samit, Paul Morin, Andrea Arroyo, Matthew Frederick and Scott Idleman will be featured throughout the run of the show. The Spring Collection continues at JAMES BACCHI CONTEMPORARY through June 16th

The gallery is located at The Shops at 1345, 1345 Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs.  Gallery Hours are Thursday-Monday, 10-5.  415-652-2915, www.jamesbacfchicontemporary.com
