Palm Springs, Calif. – The Power moved to 3-0 on the season with an 11-3 win over the Southern Nevada Coyotes on Tuesday evening at Palm Springs Stadium.
Palm Springs used another big early inning for a comfortable lead. After tacking across a run in the first inning the Power plated five runs and sent 10 batters to the plate in a big second inning.
Ely Brown (Mercer) keyed the inning with a two RBI single. Brown led the Power from the leadoff spot all night going 3-3 with two doubles, 2 RBI and three runs.
The Power offense scattered four more runs over the course of the evening scoring in six of eight total innings they came to bat.
Noah Blythe (Hawaii Pacific) also starred at the plate with two hits while knocking in three runs. Blythe is tied with Brown for the team lead with six hits on the season through three games.
On the pitching side the Power impressed with four different pitchers. Carson Olsen (Cal Baptist) started on the bump working four innings with five strikeouts and allowing just one run.
Kyle Mosley (Pittsburgh) threw three innings with five strikeouts and allowed just one earned run. Mosley earned the win in his 2024 Power debut.
Kenny Schechter (LSU Shreveport) and Trevor Stowe (Washington State) each tossed a shutout inning apiece to close out the Power victory. Palm Springs pushes their win streak to 22 straight victories dating back to the 2023 season.
The Power continue action on Wednesday against the Santa Clarita Victory. Wild Wednesday at the ballpark presented by Luxury Pools Construction and Design means four dollar margaritas for fans in attendance. Palm Springs Stadium will also host Realtors’ Night as part of the night’s festivities. First pitch is scheduled for 7 PM.
The Palm Springs Power are a summer collegiate baseball team playing all games at Palm Springs Stadium. The Power are a member of the California Premier Collegiate League and the league’s inaugural champions in 2023. Palm Springs has won nine league championships in 19 seasons of playing baseball in the desert dating to 2004.
