Everyone can sign-up and participate in Summer Reading, there is a program for kids, teens, and adults! Registration is easy to do online and our six-week program offers weekly in-person programs focused on sustainability, recycling, and being good stewards of our resources with the theme Read, Renew, Repeat! Besides free books, children, teens, and adults can enter to win door prizes at each of the weekly in-person events all generously donated and provided by local merchants and organizations. Plus, through the generosity of the Palm Springs Sustainability Commission and the Friends of the Palm Springs Library there is a variety of grand prizes that each participant has a chance to win. “It’s another great year full of wonderful in-person programs and free books” said Jeannie Kays, Library Director. “Summer Reading helps combat reading loss sometimes experienced over the summer, studies indicate that students who read recreationally outperform those who do not, and we know that students read more when they can choose materials based on their own interests!” So, mark your calendars and don’t miss this fun, annual celebration of reading! Online registration begins Monday, June 10, 2024 at palmspringsca.beanstack.org.
