Palm Springs, CA

On September 26, 2024, at approximately 8:04 PM, Palm Springs Police Department officers responded to a report of several palm trees on fire near the Parker Hotel. A witness at the scene observed a female suspect setting the trees on fire before fleeing. The witness maintained visual contact with the suspect and provided crucial information incoming officers, leading to the suspect’s apprehension.

During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Tiara Chrystal Wons, 38, of Palm Springs. Based on further investigation, Wons was arrested and charged with 17 counts of arson.

Wons was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center under booking number 202442656. She faces charges of obstructing an officer (PC 148), arson (PC 451(D)), and trespassing (PC 602(M)). Her bail is set at $10,000.
