Palm Springs, CA

Yesterday, at approximately 2:52 PM, Palm Springs Police Department dispatch received multiple calls reporting a vehicle collision into a tree in the 1800 block of Golf Club Drive.

Officers and Palm Springs Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and determined that a single male occupant was involved in the collision after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Palm Springs Police Department Traffic Unit responded and is leading the investigation into this incident. It is unknown at this time whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
