Students at Agua Caliente and Della S. Lindley elementary schools will be treated to a special visit from Taylor Hicks, season five winner of American Idol, as part of the Adopt the Arts Foundation’s ongoing efforts to support music education in the Coachella Valley. Hicks will spend time with students in grades 3-5, offering inspiration and insights into his career.
Known for his soulful voice and unique style, Hicks will engage with the students through a live performance, Q&A session, and mentorship. His visit is part of Adopt the Arts’ mission to ensure that young students, especially in underserved communities, have access to quality music education.
“I’m excited to connect with the students at Della S. Lindley and share my journey with them,” said Taylor Hicks, television personality and season five winner of American Idol. “I hope my story encourages them to work hard, pursue their dreams, and believe in their potential.”

The events will take place on Thursday, February 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Agua Caliente elementary school and 1:15 p.m. at Della S. Lindley elementary school.
“Through our work with elementary schools in the Coachella Valley, we’re giving students the chance to learn from musicians across a range of genres and see how different paths to success in music can be,” said Matt Sorum, Founder of Adopt the Arts.
Adopt the Arts, a non-profit organization founded by GRAMMY award-winning musician and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Matt Sorum, and Golden Globe award and Emmy award-winning Actor Jane Lynch, provides underserved elementary schools with high quality music education curriculum and resources.
