Palm Springs, CA

On President’s Day, two local political organizations, Courageous Resistance and Indivisible of the Desert, hosted a rally in Palm Springs in solidarity with the nationwide protests. Held at Palm Springs City Hall, the event started at noon, with speakers addressing the crowd from the steps in front of the building.

For about 45 minutes, protesters gathered in front of City Hall before lining up along E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, stretching between El Cielo Road and Civic Drive. The demonstration was met with the supportive sounds of honking car horns and cheers from passing motorists. According to the event’s organizers, approximately 500 people participated in the rally, standing together to make their voices heard in the local and national political conversation.

Throughout the protest, participants chanted slogans and held signs condemning various policies of current President Donald Trump. The protest focused on issues such as his attempts to remove thousands of federal employees from their positions and his controversial stance on transgender individuals serving in the military. The protesters used their platform to voice opposition to these and other policies, reflecting widespread dissatisfaction with the current administration’s decisions.
