Palm Springs, CA

The Palm Springs City Council is set to convene on Wednesday, June 11, at 5:30 p.m. to discuss several key matters that will shape the city’s near-term future, including the proposed municipal budget for the next two fiscal years, a temporary relocation plan for the public library, and a potential new ordinance on co-owned housing units.

The meeting, which will take place in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, is open to the public. Residents can attend in person, stream the proceedings live via the City’s YouTube Channel or official website (palmspringsca.gov), or watch on Palm Springs Community Television Channel 17.

Among the agenda items is a review of the City’s proposed budget for Fiscal Years 2025-26 and 2026-27. This discussion is expected to outline funding priorities, departmental allocations, and long-term financial planning efforts amid evolving economic conditions.

Councilmembers will also consider a three-year lease agreement for a temporary location to house the Palm Springs Public Library while the main facility undergoes renovations. The lease would ensure continued library service to residents during the construction period.

Additionally, the council will deliberate on a proposed ordinance related to co-owned housing units. The measure aims to address regulatory and policy considerations surrounding shared property ownership, a growing trend in high-demand housing markets like Palm Springs.
