Palm Springs, CA

Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) is marking another milestone in its nonstop growth with the announcement of new seasonal service to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) aboard American Airlines.

Beginning December 20, 2025, and continuing every Saturday through April 18, 2026, the new route will link the Coachella Valley directly to one of the nation’s busiest hubs. The weekly flights will be operated on American’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft, seating 172 passengers.

The addition of Charlotte service gives travelers in Palm Springs more than just a nonstop option to North Carolina—it also opens the door to dozens of additional East Coast, Midwest, and international destinations through American’s extensive network.

“This new connection builds on our momentum, adding even more nonstop access between the Coachella Valley and the East Coast,” said Harry Barrett, Jr., Executive Director of Aviation at PSP. “Every new route creates more opportunities for our community, our visitors, and our economy.”

The news comes as PSP continues to ride a wave of record-setting growth. The airport has logged five record months so far in 2025, with consistent year-over-year gains. In July alone, passenger counts were up 11% compared to the same month in 2024.

With tickets already on sale at aa.com, the new Charlotte service marks another step in PSP’s transformation into a premier desert gateway for travelers nationwide.
