Palm Springs, CA

The Palm Springs City Council will convene Wednesday, October 22, to discuss several key issues impacting the community, including transportation improvements, event sponsorship, and short-term rental regulations.

Among the agenda items is a proposed agreement with the Riverside County Transportation Commission to help fund the Racquet Club Road Reconfiguration Project, which aims to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety along the corridor. The project is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance multimodal transportation options and expand safe, accessible routes for residents and visitors.

Councilmembers will also consider an amendment to the Greater Palm Springs Pride Sponsorship Agreement that would increase the city’s annual financial contribution to the event. The proposal reflects the city’s continued support of one of Palm Springs’ largest and most visible community celebrations, which draws tens of thousands of visitors each November.

In addition, the Council will review a proposed ordinance to establish an annual cap on vacation rentals in residential areas. The measure seeks to balance the city’s tourism economy with the need to maintain neighborhood character and housing availability.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way. Residents may attend in person, view the meeting live on the City’s YouTube Channel or palmspringsca.gov, or tune in via Palm Springs Community Television Channel 17.
