Palm Desert, CA

Acrisure Arena marked a major milestone this month with “The Magnificent Seven,” a two-week stretch of concerts and sporting events that drew nearly 57,000 attendees from across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The lineup featured performances by Paul McCartney, The Who, blink-182, and Maroon 5, along with games by the Los Angeles Lakers and the Coachella Valley Firebirds. The run tested the arena’s capacity for continuous large-scale events and highlighted the growing demand for entertainment options in the Coachella Valley.

A Heavy Lift Behind the Scenes

Hosting seven major events in 12 days required extensive coordination. Over the two-week period, 487 stagehands logged more than 2,400 labor hours. Maroon 5’s setup alone involved 82 rigging points supporting 83,000 pounds of equipment. In total, crews handled roughly 349,000 pounds of rigging — about the weight of a Boeing 747 — and 34 semi-trucks of production materials moved in and out of the venue.

The numbers extended beyond logistics. During the run, the arena served more than 17,000 pounds of food and 11,000 gallons of beer. Staff also managed 31.67 tons of waste, diverting roughly half to recycling.

The Lineup

  • Paul McCartney (Sept. 29) — Launch of the Got Back tour.
  • The Who (Oct. 1) — Final North American show on The Song is Over tour.
  • Los Angeles Lakers vs. Phoenix Suns (Oct. 3) — NBA preseason “Desert Duel.”
  • blink-182 (Oct. 4–5) — Two sold-out nights closing their Missionary Impossible tour.
  • Maroon 5 (Oct. 8) — Return to Acrisure Arena after their New Year’s Eve opening concert.
  • Coachella Valley Firebirds Home Opener (Oct. 10) — Start of the 2025–26 AHL season.

John Page, Senior Vice President of Acrisure Arena and the Coachella Valley Firebirds, said the series reflected the dedication of staff and local crews who worked around the clock to support each event.

“The ‘Magnificent Seven’ was a remarkable effort,” Page said. “From McCartney’s tour launch to The Who’s farewell and blink-182’s finale, every night depended on teams working together to make it happen. This stretch showed what the arena and our local workforce are capable of.”

The Broader Picture

Since opening in late 2022, Acrisure Arena has become a central venue for music, sports, and community events in the region. “The Magnificent Seven” underscored both the demand for high-profile entertainment and the operational challenges that come with maintaining that pace.

Upcoming events include performances by Palomazo Norteño, Tate McRae, and Christian Nodal, as well as Duran Duran’s return to the desert in December.
