#begone transpired from a collaboration of thoughts and intentions by Palm Springs Curator James Bacchi and San Francisco Artists Lucky Rapp. For both, #begone is The Fine Art of Intention.
Bacchi explains, “#begone became a response/mantra to one simple question. Why are we allowing one man and his followers to systematically destroy our country right before our eyes? “Social media plays a significant role for my business. To preserve my health and my sanity, I was in search of a simple, calming means to alleviate my anger and frustration. At the same time, I wanted to offer the power of intention through art. One day while scrolling, I found myself commenting to particular posts with #begone. This response made me feel powerful and satisfied. #begone began garnering several likes and further responses. Go on, say it! #begone.
Then it hit me! Who better to collaborate with this Fine Art of Intention with than San Francisco Text-Based Artist, Lucky Rapp. I left her an ‘I have an idea’ VM.”
“When I heard James’ VM I knew something significant was brewing”, said Rapp. “We spoke. When James described the concept behind #begone, I replied, I’m in!”

“Daily, I’m waking up to unfathomable realities that seem preposterous”, says Rapp. “It doesn’t matter what side you fall on, we all know the difference between right and wrong. Art reflects the times, society and the present moment. Through text, color, and simplistic messaging, it’s possible to find some relief in this shared experience. At some point, this will touch all of us.”
