La Quinta, CA

La Quinta city officials highlighted a year of progress, community investment and forward momentum during the 2025 State of the City address, unveiling new branding, showcasing major improvements underway at Fritz Burns Park and celebrating a top statewide fiscal ranking.

At the center of this year’s announcements was the introduction of “LQVE,” a refreshed brand identity designed to capture the essence of La Quinta’s lifestyle — a blend of natural desert beauty, creativity, wellness and meaningful connection. City leaders described the branding as both an expression of community pride and an invitation for residents and visitors to experience La Quinta in new, inspiring ways.

“We’re very excited to have new branding that reflects our beautiful community, the growth we’re continuing to experience and the innovative developments we have on the horizon,” said Marcie Graham, marketing manager and public information officer for the City of La Quinta. “The ‘LQVE’ mark will be present throughout everything we do, reminding us of the love we have for La Quinta, our residents who make us extraordinary and our vision for the future.”

Fritz Burns Park Transformation Moves Forward

Officials also shared major updates on the ongoing Fritz Burns Park Improvement Project, a multi-million-dollar investment that will bring new life to one of the city’s most popular public spaces. The upgraded park will feature modern play areas, increased shade, new amenities and expanded recreational options for families.

Key improvements include:
• Plaza and promenade with public art, seating and shade
• Expanded playground with new equipment, lighting and drinking fountains
• New restroom building
• Modified parking lot with added shade
• Electric vehicle charging stations
• A new water playground with an activity pool
• Expanded pool deck with additional seating and shade

Construction is underway, with an estimated project cost of $6.9 million.

City Ranks Among California’s Strongest Financially

Alongside project updates, La Quinta celebrated a major financial milestone. In the California Policy Center’s Local Fiscal Health Dashboard, which evaluates more than 400 cities statewide, La Quinta ranked #7 overall and earned a score of 96 out of 100 — placing it among the most fiscally resilient communities in California.

The ranking reflects the city’s disciplined budgeting practices, diversified revenue sources and long-standing commitment to responsible financial management.

A Year of Growth and Community Energy

The launch of “LQVE” comes at a key moment, as La Quinta prepares to host major upcoming events, including IRONMAN La Quinta 70.3, The American Express Golf Tournament and the city’s 44th Birthday Celebration. City leaders also noted an expanding dining and entertainment landscape, with recent openings such as Chick-fil-A, Daiso, The Golf Bar, Kitchen Ten Eleven and Sports Warehouse.

Residents can expect the new branding to appear across city platforms and materials — from the website and social media to signage and advertising — over the coming weeks.

With bold infrastructure investments, strong fiscal footing and a refreshed identity that celebrates both people and place, the City of La Quinta signaled a vibrant and confident vision for the future.
