Palm Springs police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred Sunday morning along State Route 111.

According to the Palm Springs Police Department, officers responded at approximately 10:37 a.m. on December 14, 2025, to a report of a deceased individual found off the side of the roadway on outbound State Route 111 between Tipton Road and Snow Creek Road. The call was made by a bicyclist traveling through the area who observed a person on the side of the road. At the time of the call, it was not known that a traffic collision had occurred.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed the individual was deceased. Further investigation determined the incident appears to be a vehicle versus pedestrian hit-and-run collision, with the involved vehicle leaving the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office has been notified and is assisting with the investigation.

Investigators are seeking information about a possible suspect vehicle described as white in color. The vehicle may have front-end or front passenger-side damage, including possible headlight damage.

UPDATE: Driver Arrested in Separate Hit-and-Run Involving Bicyclist

In a separate incident later that same day, Palm Springs police arrested a driver following a hit-and-run collision that left a bicyclist injured.

On Sunday, December 14, at approximately 7:13 p.m., Palm Springs Police Department dispatch received a report of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at the intersection of Avenida Caballeros and Vista Chino.

Officers responded and located an adult male bicyclist who had sustained moderate injuries. The bicyclist was alert at the scene and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

During the investigation, officers determined the involved vehicle had fled the scene. Using investigative tools, officers identified and located the suspect vehicle at a residence within the city of Palm Springs. Officers contacted the registered owner, identified as Andre Colucci, a Palm Springs resident.

Police determined Colucci was the driver involved in the collision and that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Colucci was arrested on charges of felony hit-and-run resulting in injury and driving under the influence causing injury, in violation of California Vehicle Code sections 20001 and 23153.

Police confirmed the two incidents are separate and unrelated.
