Palm Springs, CA

Oscar’s in Downtown Palm Springs is introducing a new Piano Bar experience in its Atrium space, expanding the venue’s live entertainment offerings with scheduled performances on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Additional performance dates are expected to be announced. This is the first time the LGBTQ+ scene has had a piano bar in Palm Springs since the closing of Stacy’s on Arenas, and is a welcome addition to many in the community.

The new Atrium Piano Bar builds on Oscar’s long-standing reputation as a hub for music, nightlife, and community gathering. Piano bars have a deep cultural connection within the LGBTQ+ community, where sing-along performances, audience interaction, and cabaret-style entertainment have long been popular. One of the most well-known examples is the piano bar at Monster in New York City’s Greenwich Village, a venue that has become synonymous with LGBTQ+ nightlife and musical tradition.

Located in the historic Plaza Las Flores building, Oscar’s originally opened in March 2013 and entered a new era in fall 2016 when owner Dan Gore took over operations. Under his ownership, the venue has grown into one of Palm Springs’ most diverse entertainment destinations, hosting drag shows, live music, cabaret performances, and high-profile headliner events.

Oscar’s is also known for its weekly tea dance held in its open-air courtyard, as well as its full-service restaurant and bar. Over the years, the venue has welcomed a wide range of celebrity performers and special events, including the 2023 reunion of the cast of the television series Dallas.

With the launch of the Atrium Piano Bar, Oscar’s continues to expand its programming while leaning into entertainment formats that resonate strongly with Palm Springs’ LGBTQ+ community and visitors seeking an interactive live music experience.
