Palm Springs, CA
Palm Springs residents will have the chance to hear from a familiar television star this spring as actress and author Jennie Garth visits the city as the final speaker of the Palm Springs Speaks Season Seven series.
Garth will appear on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the historic Palm Springs Plaza Theatre. Tickets for the event will be available beginning Monday, February 9 at 10 a.m. PST through the Palm Springs Speaks website.
Palm Springs Speaks is presented by Friends of the Palm Springs Library and brings notable speakers from across the fields of art and culture, politics, wellness, and entertainment to the Coachella Valley. The seventh season of the series has included a diverse lineup of speakers, including comedian and actor Cheech Marin, author Wade Rouse, and investigative genetic genealogist CeCe Moore.
During the April event, Garth will take part in a live conversation about her career and her upcoming book, I Choose Me: Chasing Joy and Finding Purpose and Embracing Reinvention, which is scheduled for release on April 14, 2026. The evening will focus on themes of personal growth, reinvention, and self-discovery. Following the presentation, Garth is expected to sign copies of the book for attendees.

Garth is widely recognized for her role as Kelly Taylor in the hit television series Beverly Hills, 90210, a show that helped define popular culture during the 1990s. In recent years, she has focused on podcasting, writing, and speaking about wellness, personal development, and life transitions.
Her new book blends memoir and motivational guidance. Drawing on her experiences with fame, motherhood, heartbreak, and personal reinvention, Garth explores the importance of self-care and learning to prioritize personal well-being. The book encourages readers, particularly women, to embrace change, rediscover their purpose, and build healthier relationships with themselves.
“This book is the culmination of everything I’ve lived, lost, and learned,” Garth said in a statement. “With I Choose Me, I wanted to share the messy, beautiful truth of what it takes to rediscover yourself—through motherhood, heartbreak, aging, and reinvention. My hope is that every woman who reads it feels seen, supported, and inspired to put herself first without guilt.”
The Palm Springs Speaks series serves as a fundraising program benefiting the Palm Springs Public Library. Proceeds help support library programming, cultural initiatives, and community services.
The Friends of the Palm Springs Library works to support the library through fundraising, advocacy, and volunteer efforts. The organization helps fund programs that promote reading, arts, culture, and educational opportunities across the community.
Palm Springs Speaks was originally launched in 2017 through a partnership between the Palm Springs Cultural Center and the Friends of the Palm Springs Public Library. Today, the Friends of the Palm Springs Library serve as the sole presenting sponsor of the annual series, which continues to bring prominent voices and engaging conversations to audiences in the Coachella Valley.
