Palm Springs, CA

The Palm Springs City Council is set to take up several items of community interest during its regular meeting on Wednesday, March 25, including updates on tourism, fire response, and historic preservation.

Among the scheduled agenda items is a presentation from Visit Greater Palm Springs, offering insight into regional tourism efforts and trends that impact the local economy.

Fire Chief Paul Alvarado will also provide an update and review of the Prescott Preserve Fire, giving council members and the public a closer look at the city’s response and ongoing considerations related to the incident.

In addition, the council will consider an ordinance amending the Municipal Code related to vehicle storage facilities for non-consensual tows. The proposed changes aim to address how impounded vehicles are handled within the city.

A public hearing is also scheduled to consider the historic site designation of the Edmund Goulding Residence, a property with cultural and architectural significance in Palm Springs.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, located at 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way.

Residents can attend the meeting in person, watch it live on the city’s YouTube channel, or view it through the city’s website. The meeting will also be broadcast on Palm Springs Community Television Channel 17.

The full agenda is available on the City of Palm Springs website.
