Palm Springs, CA
The Palm Springs City Council is set to take up several key items impacting the community during its regular meeting on Wednesday, April 8.
Among the featured agenda items is a presentation and update on the historic Plaza Theatre, as city leaders continue efforts tied to its reopening and long-term operations. Councilmembers will also review the Federally Assisted Grant Programs audit report for fiscal year 2024–25, providing oversight on how federal funds have been administered.
The council is expected to consider the renaming of the J.C. Frey Building and designated areas within the Palm Springs Public Library, a move that could reflect evolving community priorities and recognition efforts.
Another major item includes a Resolution of Intention to establish the Palm Springs Tourism Infrastructure District. If approved, the district would help fund tourism-related improvements and services, a key driver of the city’s economy.
In addition, councilmembers will discuss the direction of the mayoral position, an item that could shape future leadership structure and responsibilities within the city.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, located at 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way.
Residents can attend in person or watch the meeting live on the City of Palm Springs YouTube channel, the city’s website at palmspringsca.gov, or on Palm Springs Community Television Channel 17.
