The second annual event at Downtown Park will feature ice cream, gelato, paletas and family entertainment while raising money for a local food bank.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — Ice cream lovers will have an opportunity to sample frozen desserts from across the Coachella Valley when the second annual Scoop Palm Springs Ice Cream Festival returns next weekend.

The event is scheduled for Sunday, November 1, from noon to 4 p.m., at Downtown Park in Palm Springs.

Organizers say the festival will bring together more than 20 ice cream, gelato, paleta and other frozen-treat makers.

The afternoon will combine tastings, entertainment and activities designed for families and visitors.

Net proceeds will benefit the LGBTQ Center’s Community Food Bank, which provides food assistance to residents throughout the region.

More Than 50 Flavors Expected

According to promotional information released for the event, attendees can expect more than 50 frozen-dessert flavors.

The festival will also introduce a Best Flavor of the Year competition, with participating businesses presenting their creations for judging.

Additional attractions are expected to include music from DJ MODGIRL, a children’s activity area and a photo booth.

Hollandia Dairy is serving as a presenting partner.

The event is designed to highlight independent dessert businesses while offering a casual outdoor activity during the Coachella Valley’s fall tourism season.

Supporting a Community Food Bank

The festival’s charitable component is central to its purpose.

Organizers say last year’s inaugural Palm Springs event raised approximately $21,000 and collected more than 300 pounds of food.

This year’s proceeds will again support the LGBTQ Center’s Community Food Bank.

Attendees are also encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations.

The festival provides an opportunity for residents to support local businesses and contribute to food assistance programs through the same event.

Tickets and Location

The festival will take place at Downtown Park, 134 N. Museum Drive, in central Palm Springs.

Tickets start at $38.25, including ten two-ounce tastings and access to festival activities.

A premium ticket experience has also been advertised.

Ticket prices and availability should be confirmed through the organizer before attending.
