Marty Treinen
Marty Treinen is an artist, educator, artrepreneur, author and co-creator of Universal Creative Intelligence™ (UCI)—a groundbreaking framework designed to empower children and adults with the core creative, cognitive tools and leadership skills needed for lifelong success. Over twelve years of research, design development, experimentation, and collaboration Marty and his co-creator D. Wesley Spencer, Ph.D., were able to distill the most essential tools in the universal creative process. Which include; learning in real time, the creative process, true-collaboration, emotional mastery, and personal and organizational mission, creating a foundation for exceptional leadership development. This became Universal Creative Intelligence™.
Marty’s journey began in the fine arts, where he immersed himself in painting, museum studies, design, film, and the creative industries. Early in his life, he learned that creativity was not just a hobby—it was an essential survival skill. This belief would ultimately shape his life’s work. His professional background spans; fine and decorative arts, theater, film, product design, large-scale museum experiences, world class resort interior and architectural design projects and writing. What ties all of these fields together is his lifelong devotion to understanding how to enhance peoples lives, through creativity.
Marty is looking forward to working with colleges and universities, to help implement UCI course work. With this curriculum, students will have the tools they need, and all the skill sets that companies and organizations require. At the heart of everything he does is a simple belief:
If people, especially students are not given the tools to create their own futures, someone else will create one for them. Making them just a cog, in someone else's vision of the future.
Marty’s mission—through Creative Core International—is to ensure that every child, every adult, every educator, and every community has the creative intelligence necessary to build a sustainable, prosperous, and humane future.
Marty is also co-author of the book,
“Universal Creative Intelligence™: How the Arts and Sciences Propel Human Advancement,”
a narrative exploration of how creativity has shaped civilization for over 240,000 years—and why reconnecting humanity to its creative tools is essential for the 21st century.
As a columnist for The Palm Springs Tribune, Marty covers theater, concerts, film, visual and performing, human-centric AI, and cultural events throughout the Coachella Valley. His reviews are known for their honesty, authenticity, clarity, and deep respect for the power of the arts, to enhance our lives.
