Palm Springs Weekend

To mark the 25th anniversary of the book “Palm Springs Weekend”, Andrew Danish and Alan Hess will discuss how the book helped transform the perception of the desert town from a backwater to the center of international modernism it is today. This talk will include an overview of the local architects, neighborhoods, residential and commercial images, plus hotels, celebrity homes, country clubs, trailer parks, vintage signage, and a discussion of what’s changed in a quarter century, including the meteoric rise of Modernism Week.
