FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Passion 4 Pinot Pours Bigger Than Ever as Chardonnay Joins the Party in Rancho Mirage
Southern California’s largest Pinot Noir festival returns January 30, 2027, with 80+ California and Oregon producers, 200+ wines and Winemaker Dinners that sold out in days
RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. — January 30th, 2027 — When the desert cools and the season’s most devoted wine lovers descend on the Coachella Valley, they come for one thing: Pinot Noir. On Saturday, January 30, 2027, Passion 4 Pinot & Chardonnay returns to the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa with its most ambitious Grand Tasting yet, pairing more than 200 wines from over 80 California and Oregon producers with the cuisine of the Valley’s finest restaurants, live music and a rare chance to taste alongside the winemakers themselves.
This year the festival’s name grows along with its lineup. Chardonnay, long Pinot Noir’s Burgundian companion, takes its place at the tables for the first time, giving guests the chance to explore both varietals from the same celebrated cellars. It is the largest Pinot Noir tasting in Southern California, and it has never poured quite like this.
The wine community has already answered. All three of the festival’s intimate Winemaker Dinners, held January 28 and 29 at Wildest Restaurant and Bar in Palm Desert, LG’s Prime Steakhouse in La Quinta and Wally’s Desert Turtle in Rancho Mirage, sold out within days of release. Three Sticks Winery, Papapietro-Perry and the acclaimed duo of Adam Lee and Moret Brealynn will host those evenings for the lucky few who moved fast. Grand Tasting tickets, however, remain available at palmspringspinotfest.com, released in limited batches so early buyers secure the best pricing.
A Tasting Floor Built for the Serious and the Curious
The Grand Tasting reads like a who’s who of West Coast Pinot. Guests can move from Sonoma icons Kosta Browne, Merry Edwards and Dutton-Goldfield to Santa Barbara County standouts Brewer-Clifton, Foxen and Talley, from Anderson Valley’s Goldeneye to Calera’s storied Mount Harlan vines, then cross into the Willamette Valley with Adelsheim, Cristom, Bethel Heights and Bjornson. Boutique labels and rising producers pour side by side with the legends, and because winemakers pour their own wines, every glass comes with a story about the clone, the vineyard and the vintage.
Between tastes, Coachella Valley chefs serve bites designed to elevate each pour, live music keeps the afternoon relaxed, and every guest leaves with a souvenir crystal logo wine glass.
Three Ways In
Guests choose how they want to experience the afternoon. The VIP Vista Terrace ($275, fees included) opens at 1:30 PM for just 250 guests, offering the earliest access to the tasting floor plus a private terrace with special wine pourings and elevated bites. Early Entry ($185) opens the doors at 2:00 PM, a full hour before the crowd, with first access to the complete lineup of Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. General Admission ($165) begins at 3:00 PM and includes the full Grand Tasting, restaurant pairings, live music and the keepsake glass. The event runs through 5:30 PM. If a ticket level shows sold out, additional tickets will be released in the next batch.
Expert-led seminar tastings are also in development for the festival weekend, with details to be announced at palmspringspinotfest.com.
[QUOTE — Dave Fraschetti, Founder- “For years our guests have asked for more of what we do best. Adding Chardonnay and expanding the winery lineup lets us give them that without changing what they love about this event: a relaxed afternoon in the desert with serious wine and the people who make it.”]
