A new podcast, No 2 Gays About It, has hit the airwaves giving voice to an often forgotten (yet prominent here in Palm Springs) demographic, that of the over 50 gay male, and it’s proving quite popular.

So much of today’s gay representation is in the 20 and 30 year old voice and mindset which was the impetus behind friends Tom Burke and Michael Foley developing and creating a podcast to bring their voices, their stories, and their years of experience to today’s conversations, all with a touch of humor and a slightly shady side-eye.

Michael and Tom, friends since younger days in Los Angeles, are the definitive Odd Couple of the over 50 gay community. Michael is single and can be found in the local Palm Springs bars and playing on various sports teams. Tom and his husband of 35 years are more of the cocktail party and fundraiser Palm Springs set. Different backgrounds, different lifestyles, different sensibilities and yet, this Oscar and Felix manage to discuss topics that are important to and touch the lives of the wide span of their contemporaries, the over 50 gay male population.
