Palm Springs, CA

Six Art Departments across the valley in the Palm Springs United School District have been prepping their students for the Desert Art Center’s PSUSD High School Art Competition over the last five months.  Each department submitted a portfolio of student work with as many 50 pieces.

An illustrious panel of judges chose the winning schools and top student work in each category.    The winning schools will be awarded with funds for art supplies in the amount of:

First Place -$5,000.

Second Place -$2,500.

Third Place – $1,000.

The remaining art departments will each receive $500.

The First-place winners in each category will be able to submit and sell their art in the main gallery for one year! Under the guidance of the DAC, these young artists will be mentored to have real life experience as a professional artist. This kind of experience is invaluable to a budding artist. 

The student art will be hung in the main gallery for the weekend. Our young students will have the opportunity to experience their work in a professional gallery.
