Palm Springs, CA
Due to an excessive heat warning that runs through Tuesday night — and with temperatures expected to reach five to 15 degrees above normal over the next several days, the City of Palm Springs would like to advise the community it will add an additional Cooling Center day of operation on Sunday, July 16 at the Demuth Community Center.
Hours of operation will be 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the facility located at 3601 E. Mesquite Ave. The temperature on Sunday is expected to get as high as 120 degrees. Water and snacks will be provided.
Additionally, the Riverside County Community Action Partnership and the City of Palm Springs have partnered to provide daytime cooling centers, Monday – Friday, during the summer months at the following locations:
- Palm Springs Public Library, 300 S. Sunrise Road, Monday & Thursday, 10 am–6 pm, Tuesday & Wednesday, 10 am-8 pm, Friday & Saturday, 10 am-5 pm.
- James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center, 480 W. Tramview Road, 9 am–5:30 pm
- Demuth Community Center, 3601 E. Mesquite Avenue, 9 am–6 pm.
