(Gavin Newsom, California Governor Challenges Ron Desantis To A Debate)

According to polls, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump might be the current frontrunners in the 2024 presidential election, but that has not stopped California Governor Gavin Newsom from challenging the Florida Governor and presidential candidate Ron Desantis to a debate.

Newsom’s office sent a request to Fox News for the dates of November 8th or November 10th as potential live air debate dates. He asked that Sean Hannity be the sole moderator of the debate.

Desantis, who is lagging in the polls far behind former President Donald Trump seems to be eager to get extra media attention and accepted the debate challenge. His campaign said, “Ron DeSantis is debating Gavin Newsom to highlight the choice facing American voters next year. The left wants America to follow the path of California’s decline. Ron DeSantis wants to reignite the American Dream, restore sanity, and ensure our nation’s best days are ahead.”

Newsom who was recently on the Hannity show has his own view touting Democratic accomplishments over Republicans. Mocking Ron Desantis’s presidential prospects, Newsom has said, “He’s taking his eye off the ball, and that’s not inconsistent with my own assessment of him, which is he is a weak candidate…” “He is undisciplined and will be crushed by Donald Trump, and will soon be in third or fourth in national polls.”
