Palm Springs, CA

Residents and visitors who frequent the Arenas District in Palm Springs have a new eatery to look forward to, Sonny’s Bar and Grill. The owner, Sonny Vegas, hopes the establishment will be open in November.

Sonny’s Fusion Bar and Grill is located at 214 East Arenas and is flanked on the right by popular Street Bar and a newer 30 seat speakeasy called The Evening Citizen, with Division a clothing store on the left.

The eatery will be a welcome addition for hungry customers on the Arenas strip looking to enjoy additional food options to the Arenas District’s four other establishments which offer tasty delights, Blackbook, Hunters, Chill, and Johannes.

Sonny Vegas had eyes to open his restaurant and bar for at least two and a half years. Numerous delays related to covid, inflation, alcoholic and beverage control licensing hurdles, and a fire, all set the restaurant back. Once Sonny saw that the fire damage was fixed in the space, he decided to move forward while still working at his full time job. He is part of the LGBTQ community and is really excited to be part of the Arenas District with the highest concentration of LGBTQ establishments in Palm Springs.

The menu which consists of a full bar, breakfast, lunch and dinner, bottomless champagne brunches, a taco Tuesday, prime rib on the weekends, and other features is now finished with some slight changes and finishing touches ahead.

Sonny’s Bar and Grill will also offer happy hour options and a full array of specialty cocktails hoping to offer a great atmosphere to residents and visitors alike.
