Rancho Cucamonga Station To Be Completed In 2028
Palm Springs, CA
If you’ve traveled between Las Vegas and the Inland Empire, you’ve likely seen the high-speed rail advertisements along the freeway proclaiming, “California, Here We Come.” Union construction companies recently revealed plans to hire 11,000 workers for the initial phase of this expansive project.
While the train won’t cross Greater Palm Springs directly, the ambitious high-speed train initiative, led by Brightline West, aims to offer service from Rancho Cucamonga to Las Vegas upon completion. However, before the Summer Olympics open in Los Angeles County in 2028, workers must lay 218 miles of rail to accommodate the high-speed trains.

As reported by ABC7, track laying will commence in both California and Nevada, with workers starting at opposite ends and eventually meeting at the state line. The majority of the work on building the rail line alongside the I-15 freeway is concentrated in California, according to the Brightline West system map. In December, the Biden Administration allocated $3 billion in funding for the high-speed rail project, covering the train, transit center, and more. The total project cost is estimated at $12 billion. Nevada Sen. Jacky Rosen stated that approximately 3 million cars could be removed from the heavily traveled I-15 freeway between Las Vegas and the Inland Empire. Construction is set to begin soon for the eagerly anticipated high-speed rail service from Rancho Cucamonga to Las Vegas, with unions gearing up to hire thousands of workers for the project.
