Rancho Mirage, CA

In a big boon to Adam Schiff’s candidacy, former California U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, and Coachella Valley resident Barbara Boxer endorsed Adam Schiff in the race to replace the late Senator Dianne Feinstein.

“Adam is a pragmatic progressive who gets things done. He has been one of the most courageous and fearless fighters for democracy, which is under fierce attack by the MAGA wing of the Republican Party,” said former Senator Barbara Boxer.

“I had remained neutral up to now because of my warm friendship with Adam Schiff and Barbara Lee. But I told all three Democrats that if I saw Democrat on Democrat attacks, I would reconsider an endorsement and I have. The recent unwarranted pointed attacks on Adam by Katie Porter have led me to carry out my promise. And I hope that Adam Schiff and Barbara Lee make it to the general election,” concluded Boxer.

Barbara Boxer’s tenure in the California U.S. Senate was marked by a staunch dedication to progressive ideals and a tireless advocacy for her constituents. Serving from 1993 to 2017, Boxer became known for her passionate commitment to environmental issues, women’s rights, and social justice. She played a pivotal role in advancing legislation related to climate change, gun control, and healthcare.

“Senator Boxer was a trailblazer in the U.S. Senate. She was a champion for reproductive rights and a fierce defender of our public lands who delivered results for Californians for decades. Senator Boxer has been a mentor and a friend to me — and to receive her endorsement means the world. I am truly humbled to have her support and I am eager to build on her long legacy of getting things done for the Golden State in the U.S. Senate,” said Adam Schiff.

Schiff is facing off against other Democrats, U.S. Reps. Katie Porter, Adam Schiff and Barbara Lee and Republican and former Los Angeles Dodger Steve Garvey.
