Although Biden is rising in the polls against Trump, RFK Jr., age 70, who is the third party candidate, could tip the election in Trump’s favor.

Although RFK Jr is related to the powerful Kennedy family including former president John F Kennedy who was a Democrat, his views are very different. He recently said that January 6, 2021 rioters attacking the US Capital have been “stripped of their Constitutional liberties.”

NPR in July 13, 2023 wrote of RFK, “He paints a dark, conspiratorial picture of the world, bristling with debunked theories, misleading claims and outright falsehoods.”

Kennedy’s polling numbers have consistently hovered around the 10 percent mark, marking him as the most prominent third-party candidate in a presidential contest since Ross Perot’s bid in 1992. In the broader national average compiled by RealClearPolitics, where he competes against Jill Stein and Cornel West among others, Kennedy maintains a steady 10 percent support in a five-way race.

In a poll conducted by HarrisX/Forbes on March 25, Trump emerged ahead of Biden by 3 points in a direct face-off, with 46 percent to Biden’s 43 percent. However, when Kennedy, West, and Stein are included in the equation, Kennedy garners 12 percent of the support, yet Trump maintains his 3-point lead over Biden.
