Palm Springs, CA

On the evening of January 24, 2025, at approximately 6:38 PM, officers from the Palm Springs Police Department (PSPD) responded to a report of human skeletal remains found in a gorge near Southridge Drive and the Araby Trail.

Upon their arrival, officers confirmed the discovery of the remains, and the scene was immediately secured with the assistance of the PSPD Search and Rescue Team to preserve evidence and ensure proper handling. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office was notified and subsequently took custody of the remains for further investigation.

As of now, the identity of the deceased individual remains unknown, and it is unclear how long the remains have been at the location. Investigators, in coordination with the Riverside County Coroner’s Office, are working to identify the individual and determine the cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have stated that additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
