The Palm Springs Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred late Friday night at the intersection of East Palm Canyon Drive and South Camino Real.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. on May 23, officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive adult female in the roadway. Emergency personnel from American Medical Response (AMR) transported the victim to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Police say the vehicle involved—a dark gray Toyota sedan—fled the scene before officers arrived. The identity of the driver is currently unknown, and authorities are treating the incident as a hit-and-run.

The Palm Springs Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect and the vehicle. Witnesses or anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Detective Richard Salomon at (760) 323-8125. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling (760) 341-STOP (7867).

The investigation is ongoing.
