Palm Springs, CA

The American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD®) will mark a major milestone this summer as it celebrates 60 years of floral artistry and education with its Annual National Symposium, “Reflection,” taking place July 12–15, 2025, at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

The four-day event is expected to turn Palm Springs into a flourishing hub for floral design professionals, educators, and enthusiasts from around the world. More than a traditional flower show, the Reflection Symposium will feature an exciting blend of stage presentations, hands-on workshops, and lecture sessions designed to inspire creativity and advance the craft of floral design.

The Symposium’s main stage will showcase a global roster of floral design luminaries, including Bart Hassam (Australia), Harijanto Setiawan (Singapore), Derek Woodruff AIFD (USA), and Pirjo Koppi (Finland). Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in specialized workshops led by Donald Yim AIFD (Canada), Joyce Mason Monheim AIFD (USA), and the acclaimed European duo Per Benjamin (Sweden) and Max Van de Sluis (Netherlands).

A signature feature of this year’s event will be the grand finale of the “Designs of the Decades” competition. The year-long contest has featured top designers competing regionally, with finalists now set to vie for the prestigious Designs of the Decades Cup during the Symposium.

Open to all experience levels—from students to seasoned professionals—the Symposium offers a rare opportunity for learning, networking, and celebrating six decades of progress in floral design. Organizers promise that “Reflection” will be both a tribute to the past and a forward-looking showcase of innovation and creativity in the floral arts.
