Palm Springs, CA

In a show of gratitude to those who serve and protect, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is offering complimentary admission to first responders throughout the entire month of August as part of its annual “First Responders Days” program.

From August 1–31, 2025, eligible first responders can ride the iconic tram to the top of Mount San Jacinto at no cost. Additionally, up to four accompanying guests will receive 25% off their regular tram fares.

“We deeply appreciate the work first responders do every day to keep our communities safe,” said Nancy Nichols, General Manager of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. “We hope this offer gives them a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds us.”

Qualifying first responders include:

  • Fire and police personnel
  • California Highway Patrol
  • County sheriff officers
  • Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)
A full list of eligible personnel is available at www.pstramway.com/tram-news-2.

To take advantage of the offer, eligible first responders must present valid identification and obtain tickets in person at the Valley Station on the day of their visit.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, the world’s largest rotating tram car, has been transporting passengers along the cliffs of Chino Canyon since 1963. In just 10 minutes, the tram climbs from 2,643 feet to over 8,500 feet at the Mountain Station, offering panoramic views, cool alpine air, hiking trails, and dining options—making it a beloved escape from the desert heat.
